Invasive plant species that once dominated the coast have been carefully removed, revealing clearer water views and allowing the ecosystem to thrive once more. But this isn’t just an aesthetic upgrade, it’s a return to balance. By replacing invasive growth with deep-rooted native plants, the resort has: 

Enhanced biodiversity, creating stronger habitats for native wildlife and enriching the local food web. 

Reduced erosion, thanks to the stabilizing power of native root systems that protect the soil and shoreline. 

Improved water quality, as the new vegetation helps filter runoff and increase dissolved oxygen levels, supporting both land and aquatic life.

Our recent room renovations reflect Wequassett’s belief that true luxury respects nature. From thoughtfully curated design to cutting-edge technology, sustainability flows through every detail. Each remodeled bathroom now features Kohler’s high-efficiency water fixtures, helping preserve one of the world’s most precious resources, without compromising comfort.

  • Toilets flush with only 1.28 gallons (versus the standard 1.6), conserving thousands of gallons annually. 
  • Showerheads deliver an indulgent experience while using just 1.75 gallons per minute (down from 2.5). 
  • Sink faucets operate at 1.2 gallons per minute, sleek, stylish, and smart. 

These upgrades make a measurable impact on our water footprint and offer guests the chance to enjoy sustainability as part of their stay.
