Designed by Taniya Nayak of Taniya Nayak Design, the modern, inviting space features a soft palette of whites and grays paired with wood tones and soft greens inspired by the essence of Cape Cod. Spearheaded by Executive Pastry Chef Ashley Corrao, the artisanal grab-and-go bakery and espresso program will focus on quality craftsmanship and fresh ingredients, tucked into a quaint nook alongside the signature Forbes Five-Star twenty-eight Atlantic restaurant and the tavern-style, intimate Thoreau’s. The picturesque outlet serves breakfast pastries and beverages such as coffee, tea, draft cold brews, and juices.
Ashley Corrao is the Executive Pastry Chef at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, a position she’s held for the past seven years. She began her career at the resort as a summer intern in 2014 and her talent and hard work rapidly propelled her career path. She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island where she received as associate degree in baking and pastry arts and a bachelor’s in food service management with a concentration in entrepreneurship and resort management.
Chef Ashley grew up in Seekonk, Massachusetts and loved spending summers on Cape Cod. She resides in Orleans with her beloved mini-Bernedoodle, Douglas and enjoys beaches, reading, puzzling, hiking and the Cape’s many restaurants.
The creation of The Sill will showcase the diverse talents of Chef Ashley and her team, offering a variety of French-style pastries and specialty coffees. Chef Ashley hopes it will be a favorite morning ritual for both hotels guests and residents.
