How to Spend an Idyllic Summer Weekend on Cape Cod

After your scenic lunch, hop back in the car and start making your way toward Harwich and your home base for the weekend: Wequassett Resort & Golf Club, a 100-year-old resort that recently underwent a $12 million renovation. This certainly isn’t your run-of-the-mill hotel restaurant: It is the only Forbes Five-Star-rated restaurant in the region, and the coastal-inspired menu from Executive Chef James Hackney is absolutely delicious (don’t miss the award-winning wine list). Whether you opt for the seven-course tasting menu or coastal-inspired dishes like local oysters, fresh seafood, pasta, short ribs, and salads, you really can’t go wrong.

After dinner, head for a nightcap at Thoreau’s, a cozy tavern on property with a crackling fireplace and a delicious cocktail menu. Wind down here with an espresso martini or glass of Champagne to set the mood for your perfect weekend on the Cape.
